Everyone deserves a quality education at an affordable price. Make your investment in your education count when you choose Ashford University. One of Ashford's goals is to help maximize your investment from initial fees through the entire financial process. Whether you use Military Tuition Assistance, Veteran's benefits, tuition reimbursement, cash, third party billing or financial aid, you will have help every step of the way.
Military Tuition Assistance (TA)
Active duty military, drilling reservist or members of a National Guard are eligible to receive Tuition Assistance. This in-service benefit will cover the cost of six courses yearly at Ashford University. You are required to submit Tuition Assistance (TA) vouchers at least five days prior to the start of each course. Any tuition and applicable fees not covered by the TA program must be paid prior to the start date of each course.
Note: Reservist or National Guard personnel should also seek any tuition assistance or reimbursement that their respective employers may offer as this could lower total out-of-pocket expenses.
U.S. Military Tuition Grant (Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserve Members)
If you are enrolled in an undergraduate program offered through the Ashford University Center for External Studies, you may apply for Ashford's U.S. Military Tuition Grant.
To receive the Ashford University U.S. Military Tuition Grant, you must be active duty, National Guard or a Reservist and provide Ashford University with the TA Reimbursement Enrollment Form or Authorization Form approved by your Educational Services Officer. Please note that grants apply to tuition fees in excess of $250 per credit hour. Therefore, the grant is $104 per credit for all undergraduate courses. In addition, this grant also covers the full $990 Technology Services Fee. Tuition grants are only applied to your account if you are eligible and upon receipt of an approved TA Authorization Form or valid Military ID card.
Military Tuition Assistance Procedure
You must first complete the TA Application Form. For information concerning this form, please contact a Military Enrollment Advisor.
The TA Authorization form must be received before the fee waiver or course cost adjustments will be applied. TA vouchers must be received by the fifth day of each course. Once the TA Authorization Form has been received by the Ashford University Military Tuition Assistance Office, an invoice will be sent to the military. A copy of this invoice may be mailed or faxed to you upon request. After command approval has been received, digitally sign the TA Authorization Form and send it by fax or e-mail to:

Tuition Assistance "Top-Up"
If you are active duty, pursuing a Master's degree and using TA, you may be eligible for Top-Up. Since Tuition Assistance will not cover the complete cost of tuition, this benefit is significant. Top-Up (the Floyd D. Spence Act) permits the VA to pay the difference between your actual tuition and what Military Tuition Assistance will not cover.
